Lorenzo Fernando Lamas is an American actor and former professional wrestler. He is best known for his appearances with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as Vito LoGrasso, World Wrestling Federation (WWF) as The Undertaker and the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) as a member of The McMahons. At the peak of his wrestling career, he was ranked third among “Pro Wrestling Illustrated”s 500 singles wrestlers of the “PWI Years” in 2003.
Lamas has also appeared in films and miniseries. He played himself in the 1997 film “Bio-Dome”.
Lamas was born on March 18, 1953, in San Francisco, California. He is of Italian and Irish descent. His father was a concrete contractor and his mother worked at a bank. Lamas attended Cesar Chavez High School in San Francisco’s Mission District—which is now known as San Francisco Salesian High School—and graduated from Lincoln High School in nearby Richmond, California. While he was a senior at Lincoln, he was asked to join the wrestling team by a friend.
Lamas was trained by Kevin Sullivan and Bob Sweetan, who eventually became his father-in-law. He debuted in 1973 with Jerry Lawler’s Memphis based Continental Wrestling Association (CWA) promotion and wrestled under the name Vito LoGrasso. While wrestling in Memphis, he also worked as a bouncer at a club called The Green Dragon. He later wrestled for several other promotions including the American Wrestling Association (AWA), Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP), World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). In 1988, he left WCW and joined the WWF as “The Undertaker”.
Career
Lamas has appeared in numerous movies and television shows, including “Bio-Dome” (1997), “The X-Files” (1997), “Murphy Brown” (1998), “The Practice” (2002), and “Desperate Housewives”. He also made a cameo appearance as himself in the film “” (1996).
Lamas was featured in an episode of the Discovery Channel’s reality TV show, “” (“Real Men Eat Prunes”), where he took part in a diet of only prunes for a month. The result was weight loss of 38 pounds. After his weight loss, he was featured on the cover of the January 30, 2008 issue of “People” magazine. Lamas also appeared on NBC’s reality series,”Last Comic Standing”, where he made it to the final 2 before ultimately losing to eventual winner Joe Rogan.

Lorenzo Lamas married his wife, Linda A. K. Lamas, on May 15, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Linda is a Republican who has been a member of the Republican National Committee since 2001 and was the national finance chair for the 2008 presidential campaign of Arizona Senator John McCain. She was also a delegate for McCain during the 2008 Republican National Convention. The couple has four sons: Lorenzo Jr., Lorenzo III, Lorenzo IV and Lorenzo V.
On October 12, 2007, Lorenzo Lamas announced his separation from his wife after 31 years of marriage. He filed for divorce on December 3, 2007 in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas. On February 16, 2008 it was reported that he had finalized his divorce to Linda K Lamas and that he would be moving to Las Vegas with his kids to live with them while continuing to work as an actor and wrestler in Hollywood.
Lamas married his second wife, Lisa, on October 3, 2007. He has been married to Lisa since 2007.
In March 2009, Lamas was arrested for domestic violence and battery against his wife. He was accused of throwing a cell phone at her head. On March 31, 2009, he pleaded no contest to the charges and received a sentence of one year probation and 24 days in jail with credit for time served.
On February 4, 2010, Lamas was arrested for missing a court date stemming from his 2009 arrest. He was held on $1,000 bail and pleaded not guilty to the charge of misdemeanor battery. On May 30, 2010 he pleaded no contest to the charge and received a sentence of probation.

Lorenzo Fernando Lamas is the owner of a chain of Café’s in Las Vegas and L.A., called “Lamas Coffee”. He also has a line of clothing called Lorenzo’s Collection. He also owns a restaurant, “Lorenzo’s”, which opened in Las Vegas with his ex-wife, Linda K. Lamas, on December 14, 2010. Lamas also owns a nightclub, “Lorenzo’s”, in Las Vegas.
